Glamour plays a large part in my life. My earliest childhood memories of Ginger Rogers swirling about in her feather ball gown with Fred Astaire had a profound effect on my mental out look. Just the application of my make up every morning is the start of a multitude of possibilities.
This fascination with the theatrical and the feminine has always filtered through into my art work. I create fine art with a more than a little sprinkling of glitter and charm.
Glorious girls in corsets, luxurious legs encased in nylon and sultry stories hinted at, I like to celebrate femininity and showmanship with humour and sensuality. My models range from everyday women to the most flamboyant of burlesque characters, and in every instance I hope to capture a sense of their individual glamour and beauty.
I constantly continue to investigate this allure with motivation coming from vintage pin up styles and films to contemporary culture, art and fashion.
I have an intimate knowledge of the stage having been a burlesque performer myself for almost two years as one half of The Chantilly Belles. Over this time I have met some of the most fabulous females who have influenced my work both on and back stage. The entire process of transformation inspires me and I like to show that female empowerment can come from the most extravert of situations. It is my hope to alter the perception of what it is to be an object of desire.
