Female beauty and the female appearance have always fascinated me, when I was a little girl the films that interested me most were the ones with exceptional women gracing the screen with their special brand of looks and personality. Not surprisingly stars like Marilyn Monroe and Ginger Rogers became my heroines and played a large part in forming my interests as I grew up.
I attended University at Manchester Metropolitan and studied both BA Interactive Arts and MA Communication Design. During this time my interest in commercialism and pop culture was explored to the full and I began to investigate 50's pin up art and later on the importance of the intimacy people have with their belongings, especially women. Since leaving university I have carried on this examination particularly looking into female apparal and iconism. This led me to begin exploring the art of burlesque and fetishism and has allowed me to attend some pretty fun fetish and burlesque nights around the UK.
My work is a celebration of femininity with the intent to always charm never offend. I hope to question the classic ideals of female empowerment and perhaps alter the perception of what it is to be an object of desire. But most of all I hope to create images that people can enjoy.
I can think of nothing better than painting a picture which gives pleasure.
